The Descent of the Black Bird: A Chronicle of Claiming the Throne

At the end of the Yin and Shang dynasty, Di Yi is incompetent, and the feudal lords in every direction are stirring with ambition. The third prince, Yin Zixin, was born blind and branded an ill omen, so he was banished to the northern frontier to tend horses. No one knows that although he cannot see with his eyes, he can “see” the flow of destiny between heaven and earth, and can even communicate with the legendary guardian beast of the state, the Black Bird. As powerful ministers seize control within the royal domain and enemies encircle it from beyond, a storm that will engulf the world quietly gathers. Bound to the Black Bird, Yin Zixin rises from humble beginnings, gradually wins people's hearts, uncovers conspiracies, defies fate, and claims the throne.
