The Ghost-Play Performer

During the Jiajing reign of the Ming dynasty, in the riverside town of Wuzhen in Jiangnan, county coroner Chen An takes on a baffling case. The town’s richest man has died mysteriously, his face frozen in terror. Before his death, he heard eerie singing coming from an abandoned opera stage. Afterward, townspeople begin dying in the same way. The only clue is an extra embroidered needle found on each victim. As the investigation deepens, a massacre at an opera troupe twenty years earlier comes to light. Chen An realizes that with every step toward the truth, he is also moving closer to becoming the next target of the “ghost opera singer.”
