Completed · [Two male leads] [Cold, aloof, tsundere ghost gong × money-loving, flighty medium shou] [1v1, paranormal episodic series, happy ending]
You Qi makes his living telling fortunes. Hoping to earn triple his usual fee, he takes on a job at a haunted old mansion.
He opens the door. A chill wind blows, and the lights flicker.
“Darling, stop blowing. I'm cold.”
He tosses out a cheesy line, and the wind actually stops.
He had planned to use magic to beat magic and muddle through the job, but accidentally awakens a wronged ghost trapped there. The ghost calls himself Zongzheng Yu. He's strikingly handsome, unfathomably powerful, and incredibly difficult to deal with.
He criticizes You Qi's skills, mocks his ugly talismans, and acts like a haughty tsundere.
From then on, the half-baked fortune-teller is forced to team up with the sharp-tongued ghost in a bizarre living arrangement:
You Qi: “We're a professional ghost-hunting team!”
Zongzheng Yu: “Professional? You mean the kind where you mess everything up and I clean up after you?”
They solve one bizarre case after another, and through their constant bickering, day and night, they carve themselves into each other's lives.
When the final job is done, Zongzheng Yu's spirit gradually turns transparent in the sunrise.
“I love you.” Those are the last words he leaves behind before fading away.
A year later, just as You Qi thinks it is all over, he unexpectedly crashes into a familiar chest one evening at dusk.
The man's smile is unchanged, carrying a long-missed chill and warmth:
“Xiao Qi, take me home.”
It's so nice [sending my heart] I really like the interaction between the two of them.
