Yin-Yang Asura King

Spiritual energy has run dry, and after the founding of the nation, no one is allowed to become a spirit. Gods and Buddhas have withdrawn, the underworld has shut its gates, and reincarnation has ground to a halt. The Celestial Court has introduced KPI assessments, and the Ten Kings of Hell have been laid off and forced to find new jobs. Now they run one “yin-yang transit station” after another in the human world, working themselves to the bone. Yan Xiu seems like a lazy slacker on the surface, running a convenience store that's on the verge of closing and getting nagged by the Judge to submit reports and mocked by the ghost bailiffs for slacking off. No one knows that he is the only bug in this rigidly governed world: the Eleventh King of Hell, born to face the calamity, and a natural-born Yin-Yang Asura King. Evil spirits and vicious fiends? Just snacks to pass the time. Demons running amok? Get in the way of his shows and clocking out, and the consequences will be dire. The Four Great Fiends tattooed across his back are living totems that make even ancient demon lords tremble. While his so-called “colleagues” are tearing their hair out over reports, and humanity's “cleaners” are carefully handling C-rank incidents, Yan Xiu merely yawns and says softly to the ancient demon god rising before him, “You're keeping me from eating my instant noodles.” This is the story of a slacker forced to end his laid-back daily life and use overwhelming force to restore order to yin and yang in a world grown rigid.
