The Idle Prince Makes His Bid for the Throne Online

Reborn at sixteen, Li Chen, a former contender for the throne who lost the succession struggle, wants nothing more than to have the words “lazy layabout” carved into his forehead. The throne? Whoever wants it can have it! His new goal in life is to eat, sleep, and live out his days in peace.

But his father keeps dragging him into the political quagmire with a look of “affection,” while his scheming brothers launch attacks that always find their way to his quiet little retirement nest. His offhand bad ideas are hailed as brilliant policies by the entire court, and the younger brother he casually saves becomes his number-one fan, promoting him everywhere.

When the Third Prince lays another deadly trap, Li Chen finally loses patience and flips the table. If he can’t just lie low, then he might as well cross his legs and take the throne!

But once he’s firmly seated on the dragon throne, he looks at the mountain of memorials and cries out from the depths of his soul: “Father, are you passing down the throne or dumping all your work on me?”

This is the story of a reluctant layabout who, through the daily antics of his father and brothers constantly throwing him under the bus, stumbles laughing and crying all the way to the top.
