To escape the ravages of war, nearly a million national treasures from the Palace Museum were transported over more than a decade, across tens of thousands of miles, along an incredibly perilous and winding route. Against this sweeping historical backdrop, the main cast are not official guards. As a “folk force,” they become involved in this great migration of civilization, sometimes by choice and sometimes by circumstance, solving the bizarre cases and crises that arise along the way.
