The Demon King Retires: Is It Really Too Much to Ask to Live as a Noble?

The Demon King was tired of living and decided to die for once. When he opened his eyes again, he had been reborn as a good-for-nothing young noble in the Golden Lion Duchy, unloved by both his parents. He was packed off to serve as lord of the empire’s most barren region, the Land of Eternal Winter. The former Demon King, now lord, Ash was perfectly happy with the arrangement. A peaceful retirement should mean getting away from it all, farming, fishing, and raising dragons! But even though all he wanted was to laze around, his power wouldn’t let him. The seeds he tossed aside casually grew into the Elven race’s sacred tree. A magic circle he drew out of boredom attracted the attention of the gods. Even the mutt he kept was mistaken for a hellhound. When the Abyss invaded and the kingdom trembled, just as everyone was giving in to despair, Ash walked out of his castle with a yawn. “You’ve interrupted my afternoon tea. Don’t you think you lot are taking this a bit too far?” Everyone froze in shock. How could this good-for-nothing noble, whom no one had ever respected, be even more terrifying than the Abyss?!
