The Straight Guy Next Door Always Wants to Spoil Me

I’m Lin Nuo, a clueless 22-year-old design graduate. I’m sweet, terrible with directions, and disastrous in the kitchen. On the very first day of living alone, I got myself trapped in the elevator.

My savior was Gu Ye, the guy next door, just back from the gym. He’s a 188-centimeter fitness coach with broad shoulders and a narrow waist, cold-faced and taciturn, a typical straight guy. He teased me for being “too weak to lift a chicken,” yet quietly helped me move all my things.

I thought we’d only have to deal with each other as “troublesome neighbors,” but when I scorched the kitchen, he broke down the door and put out the fire. When I forgot my keys, he took me in and made me hot milk. Whenever I got lost, he always managed to find me crouching by the roadside. He even quietly remembered that I don’t eat cilantro.

He grumbles that I’m “high-maintenance,” but when someone harasses me, he’s the first to step in front of me. He brings me a hot sweet potato when I work late, and takes care of every hospital registration and payment when I’m sick. The golden retriever I’m fostering sticks to me, a cat wanders into my home, and even Gu Ye can’t help crossing the line. He guides my hands as he teaches me to chop vegetables, nervously asks if I like him when we’re practically living together, and turns into a doting husband the moment we make things official, declaring in public, “He’s mine.”

From our first meeting in the elevator to spending the rest of our lives together, from an awkward straight guy to a husband who spoils me endlessly, our days are full of sweet little moments: sleeping in together, watching the stars late at night, standing side by side at work, and even getting jealous in the most affectionate way.

It turns out the most intoxicating kind of love is when a tough-as-nails straight guy lets down every guard for you and gives you all his tenderness and affection. With all the years ahead, he’ll spoil no one but you~
