Su Qingyuan, a modern emergency room doctor, transmigrates by chance just as an “epidemic” breaks out in the capital of the Great Jing dynasty. Countless displaced people are dying, and panic grips the populace. Armed with modern medical knowledge, she wields herbs as her blade and quarantine as her shield, snatching dozens of lives back from the brink of death. He shields her from a black-clad assassin’s blade and uses Drunken-Soul Grass to set a trap that keeps her safe; she treats his wounds and saves his life, using a healer’s compassion to melt the ice in his heart.

When the Third Prince joins forces with foreign enemies to launch a coup, taking civilians hostage and trying to unleash the epidemic again, Su Qingyuan and Lu Jin have no choice but to split up. She guards the quarantine zone, strengthens epidemic control, and saves the people, building a line of defense for life with modern medical principles. He storms the palace to meet the emperor, deploys troops, and rescues the hostages, fighting through a whirlpool of political schemes. Epidemics, poisons, coups, and palace intrigue converge. The two narrowly miss each other several times on the brink of death, yet never stop believing in their promises to one another.
