Late Autumn at the End of the Snowstorm

Lin Wanqiu and Zhou Qingshan were childhood sweethearts, but their families' bitter feud forced them apart. Wanqiu was made to marry the violent Wu Degui and endured endless humiliation. A desperate reunion with Qingshan left her pregnant with the child of their love. When the truth came out, Wanqiu was cast out by her husband and driven away by her family. In the end, she gave birth in a ruined temple on a snowy night and died with bitterness in her heart. Zhou Qingshan broke free of his shackles, but arrived just in time to see his beloved one last time. He took the baby she had entrusted to him with her life and named him Niansheng.

From then on, burdened by love and guilt, Qingshan set out with Niansheng on a life of hardship and wandering. From begging and scavenging to grueling construction work and selling goods on the streets, he experienced every warmth and cruelty the world had to offer, nourishing the child’s growth with blood and tears. No matter how hard things got, he raised Niansheng to succeed. By the time Niansheng finally stood on the world stage, Qingshan was already at the end of his strength. He passed away with a smile, leaving behind just one sentence: “I loved, and I have no regrets.” This is a tragic love song spanning a lifetime, an epic of redemption written by a father with his life, and a profound testament to the truth that “love is not a sin; in the darkest hour, it is a lamp that never goes out.”
