The Return of the Condor Heroes: The Azure Blade

The Azure Edge Sword traces the legacy of chivalry across time, linking the world of jianghu with everyday life from the Ming dynasty to the present day. During the Yongle era of the Ming dynasty, Xie Jin follows clues to an ancient tomb on Mount Zhongnan and records the heroic resistance to the Yuan dynasty by earlier figures such as Guo Shuang and Yang Guo in The Tale of Chivalry. Yelü Yun carries on the wishes of his ancestor Yelü Yuanru, comprehends the Marrow-Cleansing Art of the Passion Flowers in Heartless Valley, and helps the martial world put an end to the Blood Saber Sect’s uprising. Emei transforms its Azure Frost Edict into an Edict to Protect the People, while Wudang spreads its Taiji sword techniques far and wide, using martial arts to safeguard all living beings. Centuries later, Chen Mo, a modern conservator of ancient books, discovers a passion-flower specimen in a Ming dynasty text. Its pattern turns out to match a surviving fragment of The Legacy of Wu Mu, revealing a thousand-year-old secret of chivalry. High school student Lu Chuan is fascinated by the legends of the Condor Heroes. In his dreams, he visits the battlefield at Xiangyang, where he witnesses Guo Jing defend the city and Yang Guo shake the enemy camp with his flute. After waking, he becomes a museum volunteer, sharing tales of chivalry and passing on its spirit, awakening the long-dormant ideals of chivalry in a new age.
