Records of Strange Cases Beneath the Dragon’s Shadow

Ten years after ascending the throne, Emperor Xiao Jingyan decides to see for himself the “peaceful and prosperous age” under his rule.

Yet the first welcome the martial world gives him is a pair of handcuffs and the words, “Take the suspect into custody.”

The hands that once wielded a brush to shape the fate of the realm must now prove their own innocence.

Fortunately, he meets a cold-faced female coroner, an upright man demoted from his post, and a chivalrous man with a love of money.

One baffling case follows another, and layer upon layer of conspiracy comes to light.

When a close friend on his team nearly dies for him, and his greatest secret is on the verge of being exposed,

Xiao Jingyan finally understands:

This undercover journey is about solving cases, testing people’s hearts, and saving the nation.

And for the realm, he is willing to become a prisoner once more.
