Secrets from a Pirate’s Diary

In the near future, where memories can be edited and reshaped, top memory architect Ling Chen makes it his mission to “repair” other people's trauma, convinced that this is a benevolent path to perfection. He constructs a perfect memory of his deceased wife for himself, making it a sanctuary within his heart. But when he takes on a violent felon designated “Yisu” and tries to erase her memories of “evil,” he discovers, among the fragments of her disordered memories, an “ember” pointing to his own past, one that should not exist. This discovery makes him question the truth behind the entire memory-editing System, as well as the flawless past he has always regarded as sacred. What is he protecting: the truth, or a magnificent and merciless prison tailor-made for him?
