An Eldest Brother’s Burning Love

She is his sister in name, but the only one he holds dear in his life. When Jiang Wan was six, she was brought to the Lu family. Lu Chen, then sixteen, became her “older brother.” Quiet and reserved, he treated her like a treasure: saving his breakfast money to buy her milk, fighting for her and shielding her from the world’s malice, and losing control if she came home even a minute late. Everyone thought they were simply close siblings. But when Jiang Wan fell in love with someone else, Lu Chen lost his composure for the first time. “He’s getting close to you for a reason.” She didn’t believe him until the truth shattered her trust. It turned out that his so-called “strict discipline” all those years was because he feared she would get hurt; his so-called “controlling nature” was because he feared she would get lost; his so-called “role as her brother” was a cruel joke of fate. He could have been something other than her brother, but he willingly chose to spend his life protecting her. “Wanwan, I was never your brother. I just... love you.”
