After a failed operation, cardiac surgeon Jiang Yu is hounded by Xu Yang, a patient's family member who sees her as a “murderer.” Yet when Jiang Yu is targeted in a kidnapping, Xu Yang risks his life to save her. Once they're safe, Jiang Yu learns that Xu Yang is actually a criminal investigator looking into illegal organ trafficking, and that he approached her only for the case.
With the misunderstanding cleared up, Jiang Yu grows interested in this outwardly cold but conscientious man and directly pursues him. Xu Yang, used to taking a passive approach to relationships, is caught off guard and tries to avoid her. But he soon realizes that he has been quietly drawn in by the passion beneath her calm exterior, as well as the curiosity first planted when they met years ago. With an international criminal case still unresolved and a doctor and a detective from entirely different worlds, these two rational, proud people test the possibility of drawing closer amid life-and-death confrontations and a head-on battle of wits in love.
