Song of the Blazing Ruins

Looking back through the ashes, one sees the end of civilization;

Moving forward through the ashes, one finds the beginning of hope.

After the world was swept by the “Ashen Cataclysm,” it was reduced to ruins. The glory of ancient civilizations lay buried beneath scorched earth and ash. Survivors struggled to rebuild in the shattered corners of the land, unaware that the cyclical calamity that periodically purged the world was quietly drawing near once more.

Mo Yan was an ordinary boy born in a remote mountain village, burdened with a taboo gift considered ill-omened: Ashen Flame Sight. By touching ashes, he could glimpse the sights and emotions of anything as it burned, forced to carry countless memories of destruction. When a mysterious organization known as “Stillness” massacred his home and burned the symbol of a civilization that held a thousand years of memories, Mo Yan was the sole survivor, and the only one to glimpse the truth of the ancient world through the flames of destruction.

As he set out into exile, he was joined by Xuanbo, a mysterious, talkative ancient divine beast that fed on ashes. Together they journeyed deep into the perilous wilderness in search of the “imprints” left behind by lost civilizations. From highland cities that charted the stars and set the calendar to ancient traces hidden in dense forests, Mo Yan drew lost wisdom and strength from the ashes: farming, metallurgy, medicine, law... His flame was no longer a symbol of destruction, but a fire of the heart that could bring past glories back to life.

Yet the forces of “Stillness” lurked in the shadows, following close behind. They believed that only by making the world “forget” all civilization and memory, and sink into eternal stillness, could the cycle of calamity be stopped. A final struggle over “memory” and “forgetting,” “inheritance” and “stillness,” was quietly unfolding atop the ruins
