The Sword Shatters the Clouds and Heavens

Sword Splitting the Heavens

Rain poured down as thunder tore across the sky.

In Room 302 of Yanjing University, Lu Xiao'er stared at the fantasy novel on his computer screen, fingers flying across the keyboard as he muttered, "The protagonist's cultivation is advancing way too slowly. If it were me, I'd have swept through the newbie village ages ago!" The moment he finished speaking, a blinding bolt of lightning struck the dorm building's lightning rod. A powerful current raced through the network cable into the computer, instantly bursting into a dazzling white light.

Lu Xiao'er felt his whole body go numb. His mind was tossed into a washing machine, and as the world spun around him, the sound of hooves and rough shouts rang in his ears.

"Wake up! Keep pretending to be dead, and I'll throw you to the wolves!"

Cold muddy water splashed across his face, and Lu Xiao'er snapped his eyes open. Instead of the familiar ceiling, he saw a gray sky. Beneath him was a muddy road, surrounded by endless green mountains. Several men in coarse cloth jackets, with woodcutting knives at their waists, stood around him. The leader had a fleshy face and a menacing stare.

"Where am I? Who are you?" Lu Xiao'er struggled to sit up, only to find his whole body aching and his head pounding as if it might split. Countless fragments of unfamiliar memories flooded his mind.
