The Last Keeper of the Register

Our protagonist, Chen Mo, is an ordinary young man who runs a little folk-custom shop. By chance, he discovers an old black ledger and a beast-headed scale hidden in his attic. There’s something downright sinister about them: whenever someone in the city is plagued by an evil ghost or a monster, that person’s name and “collateral” automatically appear in the ledger. Chen Mo can then visit them and use a “pawn” transaction to remove the evil entities clinging to them. In the end, all the evil entities he collects point toward a vast conspiracy that could turn the city upside down.
