The Boasts I Made Became Ancient Legends

Shen Lang, a web-novel author whose books never took off, transmigrated into a fantasy world as a prisoner of its icy, beautiful Empress, with his life hanging by a thread. Suspecting he was a demon from another realm, the Empress demanded he reveal the secret to immortality. To save his life, Shen Lang improvised, drawing on the countless novels he had read in his previous life to invent a cultivation technique on the spot: The Freedom-Evolving Heaven-Devouring Demon Art.

He thought it might buy him a few days at most. But who could have guessed… the Empress actually practiced it, and mastered it!

[Ding! You have successfully created an entirely new cultivation system and altered the course of the world. The Great Dao Editor System has been activated!]

[You have received your initial “royalties”: one chance to add a “setting” to reality!]

Seeing the ancient demonic shadows appear behind the Empress, Shen Lang swallowed nervously and, with trembling fingers, wrote his first setting: [Added setting: Anyone who practices this technique will become absolutely dependent on and devoted to its creator.]

From then on, Shen Lang discovered a whole new world.

He said a true dragon had once fallen here, and a dragon vein really did emerge beneath the earth;

He said a ruined temple outside the city held the legacy of a Sword Immortal, and an unparalleled sword technique really did appear inside it;

He made up a “fated enemy” for the Empress, and the next day a young man calling himself the “Son of Destiny” showed up at their door with an old grandfather in tow…

He became the hidden “author” of this world, able to stir up a storm with a setting jotted down on a whim.

Years later, when the gods and demons of the myriad heavens descended to destroy this world, the Empress looked at Shen Lang, calmly holding the script, and asked curiously, “Your Majesty, how do we win this time?”

Shen Lang smiled faintly. “Don’t worry. I haven’t written the ending yet.”
