I Cross the Trials, but Not the Buddha

[Two male leads + righteous and evil opposing sides + Buddhist top and demon bottom + intense sexual tension + sworn enemies + redemption]

One is the cult leader, a hellish fire who insists on burning the world’s purest sanctuary to the ground;

the other is a crystal before the Buddha, willing to enter the endless hell of demonic tribulations to save him.

Yishangjing, the Demon Venerable of the Wuxiang Demon Realm, is burdened by sin and kills as he pleases. A massacre from twenty years ago, long buried, is the inescapable nightmare of his life. He swears to make this hypocritical world pay for the deaths of his entire clan.

Yunxiang, the Buddha’s disciple of Fajie Temple, is compassionate and commands profound Buddhist wisdom. To prevent a massacre, he enters the demon’s lair alone, only to face a soul that is obsessive and cruel, yet hides a trace of pain deep in his eyes.

When a red lotus of karmic fire collides with the pure sound of Buddhist chants, a entanglement born of mortal combat begins. He wants to guide the other toward goodness, while the other wants to drag him down into ruin.

“Monk, you can’t save this world, and you can’t save me.”

“If I can’t save you, then I’ll fall into this endless hell with you.”

At last, amid a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, the truth comes to light and karmic fire scorches the heavens. The white-robed monk finally exhausts his life’s cultivation, making himself a prison to buy the other a chance to live, and trapping them both forever inside the Spirit Void Pagoda.

At the very end, when all is settled, the Demon Venerable, who has never bowed his head, is left utterly helpless

The massacre that claimed his family can never be undone. All he can do is numb himself by watering it again and again with fresh, hot blood. Yet in the endless darkness, there has always been a light called Yunxiang.
