The B-24 Flying to Beiping

Nanjing, in the twilight of 1948. Lin Zhiyuan, an ace pilot for the Kuomintang, returns home after completing his studies abroad with dreams of serving his country. But instead of glory, he finds the cruelty of civil war and corruption in the bureaucracy. A bombing mission targeting his own people becomes the final blow that shatters his faith.

On the ground, Shen Wangshu, a female student at Nanjing University, is the beacon of his soul, gentle yet resolute. Between the pages of her books burns the flame of progress, while beneath her love flows a steady current of devotion. When the underground Communist Party offers its hand, a daring “Dawn Uprising,” with lives at stake, begins to take shape in secret under cover of night.

From passing along the first intelligence report to plotting a flight path under close surveillance, every heartbeat is an alarm and every glance needs a code. As loyalty comes under scrutiny, close friends fall under suspicion, and the sycamores beneath which they shared their love are shadowed by secret agents, Lin Zhiyuan and Shen Wangshu face their ultimate test amid the fire of trust and sacrifice.

He will pilot that heavy B-24 bomber and tear through the tightly sealed skies. In the perilous city of Nanjing, she will carve out one final path of escape for him. It is a daring mission toward the dawn, and a stirring saga of two lovers who, in history’s darkest hour, write a song of faith and love.
