Dragon Chant: Peach Blossoms Burn on Divergent Paths

In a chaotic martial world, the righteous and the wicked follow different paths. A fated romance begins with probing and ends in a bitter break. Puzhu, guardian of the Tianjing Pavilion and the former crown prince in disguise, walks among ordinary people with prayer beads and a monk’s staff, vowing to uphold justice and protect all living beings. Xifang Tao, palace mistress of the Fengliu House, stirs up political intrigue with her pink robes and seductive charm, stopping at nothing to fulfill her ambitions. She was drawn to the compassion in the cinnabar mark between his brows, while he glimpsed a spark of goodness still alive beneath her cunning gaze. Though they stand on opposite sides, the two are caught in a flirtatious tug-of-war as they trade intelligence and try to win each other over. She uses tenderness to coax secrets from him; he tries to redeem her with compassion. Their brief alliance conceals schemes, and even the moments when their hearts waver cannot bridge the divide between good and evil. When Xifang Tao’s ambition burns away her final hesitation, Puzhu must at last turn his staff against the woman who once moved his heart. Against the snow on a broken bridge, they face each other with weapons drawn, leaving behind only the bitter regret of a martial world where compassion cannot save those consumed by power, and deep love cannot overcome diverging paths.
