My Regent Always Wants to Depose Me

[Mad little emperor VS fatherly, powerful uncle]

On the first day of my reign, my uncle Xiao Wenyan, the most powerful man in the court, stood before the assembled officials and asked to be appointed my tutor.

He said he would “teach” me personally. Everyone in the court knew this was a way to keep me in check.

I hate him to the bone, so I deliberately make trouble, using the imperial throne as a cradle and my memorials as kites, just waiting for him to lose patience and depose me.

But while he beats me with a ruler until I can’t get out of bed, he also stays up late to review memorials for me. While he coldly calls me “a rotten piece of wood,” he eliminates every wolf eyeing the throne.

Only later do I understand: the man who once threatened to depose me is the only person in the world who truly wants me to secure my place on the throne.
