Redemption Through Punishment

[Madman who set the fire vs. cold-faced disciplinarian] [Burning down a village, turning himself in, corporal punishment and reckoning, psychological correction, reconstructed memories, social exile, moral judgment, redemption through silence] The protagonist starts at the peak: at the peak of his injuries, at the peak of his sins. He has no heaven-defying golden finger, only a Book of Confessions that gets harder and harder to write in. He has no confidantes, only a “demon monk” who forces him to endure punishment every day. This isn’t about turning his life around. It’s about the price he must pay. Tired of invincible heroes? Come see how a real “person” spends seven years confronting his crimes and bringing them to an end through blood and tears.
