The Wandering Immortal-Handed Doctor

An outbreak of a strange illness strikes Qingxi Village, nestled among green hills. The villagers suffer from persistent high fevers and sores covering their bodies. Doctors from outside the village are helpless, and panic takes hold. Just then, Shen Yan arrives at the village entrance with an old medicine chest on his back. Dressed simply, he can diagnose an illness at a glance and gather herbs on the spot. A few doses of herbal medicine are enough to help even the gravely ill recover. The villagers gradually come to depend on this “living immortal,” unaware that Shen Yan was once the chief physician of the Imperial Medical Bureau in the capital. He withdrew to the countryside because he wanted no part in the palace’s medical rivalries. As he treats the villagers, he discovers that the illness is linked to polluted water from the mountain behind the village, and uncovers a crooked scheme run by medicinal herb merchants. In the end, Shen Yan not only cures the villagers but also exposes the truth and cleanses the water. He settles in Qingxi Village, using his medical skills to protect the health of its people.
