I Conduct Scientific Research in the Tomb Raider World

Chen Fan, a young lecturer with a library in his ring and a head full of academic quirks, finds himself in the fantastical world of The Grave Robbers' Chronicles.

While Wu Xie is still tearing his hair out over riddles, Xiaoge is clearing the way with blood, and Pangzi is risking his life for burial treasures, Chen Fan has already set up a drone and put up a research banner.

"An Empirical Study of the Relationship Between Western Zhou Tomb Structures and the Productive Forces of Their Era: A Case Study in Field Research."

Corpse beetles? "Collecting samples. Make sure the specimens remain intact." Illusions? "A typical case of mass hypnosis. Everyone, please fill out this psychological questionnaire." Undying bronze? "A unique shape-memory alloy. I recommend sending a sample back to the lab for electron microscopy analysis."

He only wants to slack off and finish his dissertation. Somehow, though, modern science has put all manner of gods and millennia-old mysteries on the dissection table.

Then one day, the space inside his ring suddenly whispers to him: "Get your doctoral thesis ready to defend. Your examiner... is the 'Ultimate.'"
