The Workplace Conquest Guide for a Queen with Social Anxiety

Chen Ping, a psychology master's graduate with severe social anxiety, can't even get through "Tell me about yourself" during fall recruitment interviews. After bombing thirty interviews, she unexpectedly awakens a superpower: by touching an object, she can sense other people's emotions. The price is ringing ears every time she uses it, and emotional overload leaves her temporarily unable to speak.

With this "special assistance," she narrowly gets into a top investment bank, only to plunge into a workplace maelstrom of open and hidden attacks. Colleagues dump their messes on her, seniors offer guidance in public while secretly taking credit, and factional politics force her to choose sides. Too socially anxious even to make small talk in the break room, she can only read the emotions left on documents and use precise data and written communication to achieve a lot with a little.

A colleague tries to shift the blame? She touches a report the other person handled, reads their guilt, and sends back a data analysis backed by a chain of evidence.

A senior steals credit? She uses the emotional traces on a contract to write up her core contributions in advance and copy the report to the big boss.

Social anxiety makes her bad at verbal sparring? No problem. A socially anxious mind reader can still carve out her own path in the investment bank's workplace maelstrom with hard data and written reports.
