Beyond the Iron Cage

My new work is here! I hope you’ll read it and enjoy it. Your support inspires me to write, and I’ll do my best to tell every story well.

Seventeen-year-old high school student Lin Ye is tricked by his own family into going to the Xingya compound in northern Myanmar. A boy preparing for exams, he is reduced to a tortured tool for online scams. With nothing left to lose, he escapes using a shard of broken porcelain and the “Desperation Response System.” But then he encounters Su Mei, the rival of Su Ming, and agrees to go undercover and return to the compound to rescue Su Mei’s cousin, Su Xiao, and destroy Xingya.

Disguised as a guard, he slips through the blind spots in the surveillance system and leads Su Xiao out, every step a matter of life and death. Su Mei’s motives and the truth about his parents’ betrayal leave him torn between saving himself and saving others. This is a story of a boy’s redemption on the edge of hell, and a struggle by trafficking victims to fight back against the darkness and make it home alive. Can they bring down the prison that devours its victims?
