The Cold-Front Courier's Clingy Little Apprentice

The roads in the old neighborhood were full of potholes. Lu Han had ridden his electric scooter for five years, and still couldn't bring himself to replace its tires, even though their treads had worn smooth.

Lin Xiao's used car always had an enamel mug inside. He filled it with tap water and drove all over half the city.

No one knew that the cold-faced Lu Han always carried his mother's blood pressure medication in his backpack. After sending her medical expenses each month, he had barely enough left for instant noodles.

And no one knew that the cheerful Lin Xiao studied textbooks in his rented room, which cost 500 yuan a month, until the early hours of the morning. His notebook was filled with the words, “No matter how hard it is, I have to get in.”

Then, on a stormy day, Lin Xiao's electric scooter got a flat tire, and Lu Han silently gave him a ride as they finished their last delivery.

Then Lin Xiao secretly took out the money he'd saved for school and helped Lu Han raise enough for his mother's surgery. The two people who had been struggling through wind and rain finally turned “I'll carry it alone” into “We'll walk this road together.”

This isn't a sweeping, passionate romance. It's just two delivery workers who found warmth in each other along the way.
