Jiang Ping is an ordinary overworked employee with no connections, no influential contacts, and no money. A few years after graduation, he’s barely getting by. He keeps working hard, only to be fired. Just as he thinks his life is about to hit rock bottom, his System shows up.
“Ding!”
“Random Food System binding... 10%... 50%... 100%. Binding successful!”
“As a man with a System, how can you let a job hold you back? Your duty is to bring delicious food to more places and let more people experience the joy of good food!”
And so:
“Beginner’s gift pack issued!”
“Main quest issued: Work at a gym for seven days! Complete the quest to earn generous rewards!”
Then:
Gym owner: “I’m not bragging, but my gym is the best in the city of Shanghai. My customers come without even being invited!”
Club owner: “To be honest, even though we’re a club, what we really do is run a proper food business. Jiang’s cooking is incredible! He’s the greatest and most amazing chef in the world, bar none!”
Car dealership saleswoman: “Oh, we sell cars here! What, you came to eat and figured you might as well buy a car too? You’re welcome! To be honest, customers come for Chef Jiang. I’d gladly give up my commission if I could just eat his cooking!”
Customer: “Right, right, you’ve got it all wrong. Nobody comes here to check out the girls’ legs. We’re all here for the food, okay!”
Jiang Ping gets assigned to work at random places, and wherever he goes, business booms.
Just as the owners are celebrating, disaster strikes.
“Boss, boss, we’ve got a problem! Jiang says he’s quitting, and then he’s going to run off!”
“What did you say?”
