The Words of Haitan Stone: The Ryukyu Prince-Consort's Tale

Ryukyu, a vassal state of the Qing dynasty, had close ties with Haitan Island. The Ryukyuan prince consort and Lin Yueniang of Haitan Island also shared a celebrated love story. They once joined forces to fight off Japanese pirates, but the prince consort's status stood between them. When disaster struck at sea, they held fast together, protecting the tombs and writing The Stone Words of Haitan. They carved their love and steadfast devotion into the mountains and sea, making their deep bond an immortal story etched in stone.
