I’m a forensic pathologist. After supernatural horror stories descend upon the world, I become a special investigator for abnormal cases.
While other investigators struggle to survive by following the rules, I walk straight up to the most powerful vengeful spirit with a scalpel in hand.
“According to Forensic Anthropology, your bones are no more than twelve years old. Why are you pretending to be an adult?”
“According to the Illustrated Guide to Postmortem Changes, with this degree of decomposition, you’ve been dead for no more than three days.”
“According to Trace Evidence Analysis, that so-called curse of yours was carved into place just three hours ago.”
The vengeful spirit trembles as I lecture it. I pull out my report and push up my glasses.
“Don’t be scared. I just want to perform a full autopsy on you.”
Behind me, the Global Bureau of Supernatural Incidents screams, “Stop! That’s the source of an S-rank supernatural phenomenon. You can’t dissect it!”
Characters:
Lin Jin: A former expert in forensic pathology, now a special investigator of abnormal supernatural incidents. So calm he seems almost indifferent, he believes science can explain everything, including ghosts and gods. When faced with the uncanny, his first response isn’t fear. It’s to reach for his scalpel and notebook.
Chen Tao: A veteran field agent with the Bureau of Supernatural Incident Management, experienced but strict about following the rules. He is Lin Jin’s temporary partner, and Lin Jin is putting his worldview through a merciless test.
“Teacher” / Art Studio Evil Spirit: One of the source’s manifestations of the S-rank supernatural phenomenon “Blood-Colored Art Studio.” Its central rule is to “guide” victims into painting the thing they fear most, then trap them inside the painting.
