A Secret Courtship in the Capital: The Cool, Aloof Uncle Slowly Lures Me In

[Both pure + older man, direct and upfront + both speak their minds + mutual devotion + sweet romance]

Lively, resilient heiress x cool, dignified heir

Shen Jinzhao, the Shen family's heir, is aloof and proud, disciplined and courteous, and famously hard to approach.

Li Jin, the Li family's heiress, grew up surrounded by gold and jewels. She is bright, beautiful, lively, and gentle.

When news of an engagement between the two families broke, no one thought of them as a match. Li Jin never imagined they would have anything to do with each other, until he came to her aid time and time again.

At first, Li Jin thought he was attentive but petty, gentlemanly but infuriating.

After spending more time with him, she still found him infuriating, but also rather fun.

Later, he confessed his feelings to her. Li Jin: Wait, she had only ever thought of him as an elder!

Who was the one who kept teasing her and telling her to call him Uncle?

After their engagement was announced and confirmed by both of them, news soon broke that they had split up.

When someone asked Li Jin about it, she said, “I really am reconsidering my relationship with him.”

Everyone thought: As expected, they're incompatible. Even a relationship built on mutual interests can't last.

Then, at a banquet, while guests clinked glasses downstairs, the cool, imposing man in a bespoke suit had Li Jin settled on his lap in an upstairs room. She gripped his collar, kissed breathless, and protested in a soft, sweet voice, “You're so mean.”

Shen Jinzhao's strong arms locked around her slender waist, as if he wanted to hold her inside his very body. His voice low and hoarse, he spoke with forceful tenderness: “We've got the marriage license. Tonight, I want to sleep in your room.”

Everyone: ?

Reconsidering means getting married first?

Wait, so the proud heir is actually a complete pushover for his wife.
