After the Demon Lord Turned Lazy, a Three-Year-Old Little Demon Made Me Work Myself to the Bone

Found-family pampering + feel-good power fantasy + a laid-back Demon Venerable turned into a workaholic + coaxing her slacker dad into becoming a fiercely protective parent + the Heavenly Dao is my dad’s biggest fan

A Gun is a drop of heart’s blood from Ye Lan, an ancient Demon Venerable. After sleeping for ten thousand years, she takes the form of a tiny bean.

The good news: Her dad once nearly toppled the Celestial Realm and made the gods and Buddhas tremble.

The bad news: He suffered a crushing defeat ten thousand years ago, his demonic heart shattered. Now he runs a shabby tavern in the mortal world and just wants to lie in the sun.

A Gun plants her hands on her hips and pokes her dad’s leg with her little voice. “Dad, get up! It’s time to rebuild your demonic heart and overthrow the Heavenly Dao!”

Ye Lan rolls over and mumbles, “I can’t keep up anymore. Let your dad lie here for another five hundred years…”

And so, all living beings across the Three Realms witness a wonder:

The once-infamous butcher of the underworld no longer kills. He’s taken up gardening instead.

The former overlord of the Demon Realm no longer makes trouble. He’s taken up childcare instead.

When the disciples of the immortal sects call A Gun a “little monster,” he silently sharpens his kitchen knife.

When an ancient monster chases A Gun, hoping to make her its emergency rations, he smacks it so hard it turns into a pet.

When A Gun gathers all the fragments of his demonic heart, she beams at him and says, “Dad, the old Emperor of Heaven’s skull would make the perfect bowl for A Gun!”

Ye Lan: “…”

He’s tired. Time to destroy the world. Not even the Heavenly Dao can stop him. So he says.
