Oasis: The Last Line of Defense

Three years after the “V” virus outbreak, the world has fallen. Cities have been overrun one after another, and zombies roam everywhere. In Chongqing, a city cloaked in darkness, Lin Han, a former PLA expert in virology and weapons, holds out alone with his military dog, Heifeng. A genetic immunizer, Lin Han searches for supplies and studies serum every day. He also broadcasts signals from a radio station, hoping for a response, but all his efforts are in vain. Heifeng's sacrifice shatters the fragile peace, plunging Lin Han into despair. But the metal tag Heifeng left behind makes him suspect the virus didn't come from a natural disaster, and he resolves to investigate in Chengdu. Along the way, he rescues Zhao Xue, a former special forces soldier, and they join forces. Their goal is to find Zhao Xue's younger sister, who works at Shenzhou Biotech, and uncover the secret behind the virus. At the “Dragon Vein” base in Chengdu, they discover the truth about the “Dragon Vein Project”: it was intended to develop a genetic enhancer called “Nirvana,” but an experiment spiraled out of control and caused the virus to leak. With danger closing in from every side, Zhao Xue sacrifices herself to cover Lin Han's escape. He gets away with the core data and a sealed case. By then, the virus has mutated for a third time. The Night Demons have developed a collective intelligence and formed zombie hordes, escalating the global crisis. Carrying the data, Lin Han reaches the “Dongfeng Oasis” shelter in Gansu. There, scientists discover that the Night Demons avoid patients in the late stages of the disease and propose a “disguise” theory. Lin Han injects himself with a simulated pathogen and successfully verifies their theory. At last, the zombie hordes lay siege to Dongfeng Oasis. Lin Han walks alone toward them and, thanks to the “disguise agent,” manages to return safely. Humanity gains the ability to coexist with the Night Demons, allowing the flame of civilization to endure. The radio crackles to life once more...
