The Strength of China

This isn’t an epic about heroes. There are no earth-shattering events, but there is a deeply moving truth: the satisfied smile on Grandpa Wang’s face as he watches his tea garden yield a good harvest; the tears of excitement in Xiao Zhang’s eyes when he develops a sodium-ion battery; the determined look in Old Yang’s eyes as he plants sainfoin beside a solar power station. This isn’t a “miracle from heaven.” There’s no luck without effort, but there is a solid foundation: the stubbornness to “give it a try anyway,” refusing to back down when faced with difficulties and believing that “one more try” can bring hope; the patience to “take it slow,” resisting the urge to rush and knowing that “one step at a time” is how you go farther; the eagerness to “work together,” understanding the power of unity and knowing that “many hands make light work.”

Telling China’s story doesn’t require us to deliberately praise “greatness.” We only need to let more people see that what we call “Chinese strength” is simply the resilience to “hang on a little longer,” the courage to “try one more time,” and the commitment to “walk together,” etched into the genes of every Chinese person. It’s farmers’ perseverance in “tilling the land for one more season” that gives us confidence in our food security; it’s engineers’ meticulousness in “revising the plans one more time” that drives our technological progress; it’s ordinary people’s kindness in “giving a little more” in their daily lives that gives society its warmth.
