Xu Yan Is the One I, Shen Haochen, Love Most: A Decade of Love

Fan fiction inspired by Zhao Lusi's hit drama Shine on Me The revelation about his birth struck like a thunderclap. Branded an “illegitimate child” and kept in the dark by his own family, Shen Haochen was plunged into darkness. Depression closed in around him like a suffocating net, leaving him on the verge of being unable to breathe. At the time, Xu Yan had just escaped a marriage into a wealthy family built on scheming. She had shed her disguise as “the young madam of the Shen family” and was nursing her wounds alone. But when she saw Shen Haochen curled up in a corner, his eyes vacant, the heart that had been let down by the world yet remained warm still stirred with compassion. She was no longer his sister-in-law, but she became the only person brave enough to knock on his heart's door. Warm porridge in the morning, quiet company late at night, and her words, “I’ll protect you,” when public opinion closed in on him: little by little, she pulled him out of the abyss. Shen Haochen gradually realized that the light he had been chasing was never his family's approval, but the warmth in Xu Yan's eyes. Ten years passed. When dependence quietly grew into deep love, society's judgment and the identities they once held became obstacles. But to him, all his struggles were for one answer: “Xu Yan, you were my only salvation when I was lost in darkness, and you are the love I want to pursue for the rest of my life.”
