Dragon Scales and Phoenix Feathers: A Thousand-Year Bond in the Beast World

In the Canglan Beast World, the beast tide surges, and the five great ancient beast clans unite to seek a sacred relic and avert disaster. Feng Qi of the Fire Phoenix Clan is the clan's cherished darling. Beautiful and radiant, she possesses a healing light, yet her thoughts linger only on the little black snake she saved as a child. Ao Jin of the Black Dragon Clan is a once-in-a-thousand-years prodigy, aloof and taciturn, with a fiercely possessive nature. His sole obsession is finding the little fireball who warmed him long ago. At the council of the five clans, the two are forced to team up to investigate the beast tide. They clash when they first meet, but as they face life and death together time and again, they feel drawn to the familiar aura of the other. Illusions reveal fragments of their childhood, and the tokens they carry, a dragon-scale jade pendant and a newly hatched phoenix feather, recognize each other. At last, their buried memories awaken: the people they had spent half their lives searching for had formed an unbreakable bond in their youth. After they reunite, sweetness abounds. The aloof black dragon becomes utterly devoted to his wife, but a plot by evil beasts plunges them into mortal danger. Feng Qi damages her beast core to save Ao Jin's mother, while Ao Jin burns his dragon core to protect his beloved. From protecting each other alone to fighting side by side, they join the fire of rebirth with the black flames of the dragon. Using their heart's blood to awaken an ancient legacy, they become the Dragon and Phoenix Gods of the Canglan Beast World. Together, they protect all living things and turn an obsession spanning a thousand years into an eternal legend of lifelong devotion.
