The Martial Cat

The protagonist, Miao Hu, is from Dongshan Town, Pengcheng. A martial arts school student who learned Tiger Fist from his family, he once stepped in to help someone and went too far in self-defense, killing seven people. Sentenced to life in prison, he was released at just 38 for good behavior. His girlfriend waited for him and married him when he got out.

More than forty years passed in the blink of an eye. His wife had been dead for over a decade. She had been frail, and they were already getting on in years, so they never had children.

The little girl next door often looked after him. One day, when she was being bullied by thugs, the old man stepped in to help again. He fought to the death against four half-grown wolf cubs, only to be reborn in a parallel world. Everything here was just like before, except this was a world of high martial arts!

Unfortunately, he went too far in self-defense in this life too. He had stepped in again to save his girlfriend, and because of his martial arts cultivation, he killed even more people, over a dozen in all. He had gone completely berserk. This time, he wasn't sentenced to life: he got the death penalty!

Luckily, with the spiritual qi revival, the country needed brave volunteers, so many non-political prisoners were granted amnesty. There was a catch, of course: they had to help the country complete a whole range of experiments. Miao Hu signed up and, against the odds, survived. He also unexpectedly gained a golden finger: stray cats were his greatest asset! Every day, he could earn a set number of points from stray cats and use them to strengthen himself, speeding up his martial arts cultivation.
