Journey to the West: I Am the Monk Tang Sanzang, Master of Physical Salvation

The protagonist transmigrates into the body of Tang Sanzang, but something about this Tang Sanzang is off. Not only has he retained his memories from his previous life, he has also been bound to the Immortality System, giving him an endless lifespan and an indestructible body. The price is that he has no magic power at all and must rely on his physical strength. Each year, he gains one attribute point, and he puts every last point into Strength. Before setting off on the journey to retrieve the scriptures, he quietly spent hundreds of years putting points into Strength at a temple in Chang'an City. On the outside, he is a fair-faced, refined holy monk. In truth, he is a muscle-bound powerhouse capable of splitting mountains and crushing rocks with his bare hands. He adopts an intelligent black ox as his mount, though the ox is actually an ancient species that understands formations. When Guanyin bestows the tightening spell, he squeezes it into an iron cake with one hand. Sun Wukong is unruly, so he pins the monkey down with one hand and says kindly, “Wukong, I’ll only say this once.” From then on, the journey to retrieve the scriptures takes a sharp turn. Other Tang Sanzangs cry, “Wukong, save me!” He says, “Wukong, let your master handle this!” Then he takes off his kasaya, revealing bronze-colored muscles, and punches the monster until its body and soul are utterly destroyed, before declaring, “Amitabha Buddha, this humble monk sends you on to the Western Paradise.”
