Si Lengqing, just like her name suggests, is a girl who has grown used to hiding behind a facade of quietness and politeness. She works as a librarian, believing books to be safer than human relationships. Her world once consisted only of neatly arranged bookshelves and three close friends, each with a distinct personality yet all incredibly warmhearted: Wenjing, well-read and composed; Mahu, scatterbrained but full of energy; and Haoshuang, a bold, loyal woman of action.
It all changes after a seemingly "disastrous" and ridiculous encounter. At the library, she accidentally drops a thick copy of The History of Western Art on the head of a strange man, a cold, calculating corporate heir who has come to find materials for his father. For the male lead, it's love at first sight, even as stars spin in his eyes from the blow. For Si Lengqing, all that's left is the mortifying embarrassment and panic that make her wish she could disappear into the floor.
An even bigger "disaster" soon follows. Their parents unexpectedly meet at a family gathering, bringing to light a "feud" that began with a business misunderstanding many years ago. The two, who might otherwise have simply passed each other by, are forcibly tied together when their parents argue and make a "bet": the younger generation must work together on a project to prove whose parenting was more successful.
And so begins their "forced cohabitation" (or frequent collaboration) against the backdrop of their families' feud. The male lead seems petty and cold, and is so jealous that he secretly "explodes with rage" whenever Si Lengqing says more than a few words to someone else, even one of her close friends. Yet whenever she needs him most, he quietly protects her in his own unique, awkward way.
Beautiful and worth recommending!
