I’m an Editor of Lives: I Spoil the Story of Tang Sanzang from the Start

I transmigrated into Journey to the West and became a storyteller in Chang’an. I discovered that this so-called pilgrimage to the West was nothing more than a grand play scripted by a Sage. And I awakened the [Life Editor]. From then on, every actor in the Three Realms had to take orders from me, the “screenwriter.” [Edit: Jinshan Temple. In his lay days, Tang Sanzang was a martial arts champion who swept across the land. His Buddhist name was “Fists That Subdue Rivers and Mountains”!] So on the pilgrimage, when Tang Sanzang faced a demon, he threw a punch and shouted, “This humble monk has come to give you a physical salvation!” [Edit: Gao Village. Zhu Bajie did not harass Chang’e. He and the Lunar Star Lord were in love, but the Jade Emperor forcibly tore them apart!] Marshal Tianpeng’s fighting spirit reignites, and he sets his sights on the Celestial Court: “Old Jade Emperor, give me back my love!” [Edit: Beneath Five Elements Mountain. What held Sun Wukong down was not a six-character mantra, but a karmic debt owed to him by the Tathagata!] The monkey bursts out of the mountain. Instead of bowing to Tang Sanzang, he heads for Spirit Mountain: “Tathagata, settle your karmic debt first. Then we’ll talk about the pilgrimage!” The gods and Buddhas across the heavens go mad. How did the entire script get turned upside down? I close my storyteller’s block and smile faintly. Next, it’s time to give the Jade Emperor a bigger part.
