The Black Laws of the Taoist Sect

“The Tai Xuan Fengdu Black Code of Rites: thirty-two execution edicts and twelve forms of annihilation. Any demon or evil spirit that reveals itself, frightens people, or enters their dreams may be put to the sword under this law.” This secret saying, sealed away by the Daoist sects, became the key that Chen Nian used to knock on the door of an age when the Dao had fallen into decline. People know only that the teachings forbid killing and urge people to stop doing evil. They do not know that the Book of the Northern Yin Fengdu’s Grand Mystery, the Black Code for Subduing Demons and the Spirit Writ, contains an ironclad rule: “Only when every evil spirit has been slain will peace return.”
