Honghuang: Turning the Tables on the Investiture of the Gods, Starting at Biyou Palace!

[Primordial world + Journey to the West + everyone dotes on her + no romance]

Tao Zhen, a well-known slacker from Biyou Palace, spends her days sunbathing, drinking peach-blossom wine, and enjoying life as a happy, idle fish.

Then one day, a foolish System claiming it could help her turn the tables during the Investiture of the Gods calamity crashed into her.

The System wailed, “I’m sorry, I bound myself to the wrong person, but the Investiture of the Gods calamity is about to begin, and the Jie Sect is doomed…”

Tao Zhen blinked, then went to knock on her master, Sect Master Tongtian’s door. “Master, the Investiture of the Gods list is about to fall from the sky!”

And so, Biyou Palace’s atmosphere changed completely.

Tongtian personally began recruiting: “Urgently seeking disciples willing to be placed on the list. Excellent benefits!”

Tao Zhen simply smiled and waved her peach-blossom fan, quietly taking none of the credit.

At long last, the Investiture of the Gods came to an end. She thought she could go back to being an idle fish, but then the Journey to the West calamity began, stirring up even more trouble for the already tottering Jie Sect.

The Venerable Buddha Tathagata was sealed away by his inner demon, and the journey to obtain the scriptures was filled with hidden demonic threats.

Tao Zhen had no choice but to adopt a new secret identity as the wandering healer Lan Zhi, bringing her young fellow disciple, who could transform into human form, along to infiltrate the scripture-seeking party.

On the surface, she gathers herbs and treats the sick. Behind the scenes, she turns the tables and smashes everyone’s schemes to pieces.

Everyone thinks she’s just a frail, unaffiliated cultivator. No one knows that the spiritual power she holds within heaven and earth is enough to overturn the entire Primordial world’s chessboard.

Tao Zhen just can’t understand how her perfectly peaceful life as an idle fish turned into saving the Three Realms.
