The Continent of Spiritual Energy is a world with a highly advanced cultivation civilization. Cultivators can command the power of heaven and earth, summon wind and rain, and soar through the clouds. The cultivation elite monopolize natural resources and control the weather. They use the power to grant rain as leverage, forcing the common people at the bottom to toil day and night, mining spirit stones and handing them over for the elite to cultivate. In places where the spirit-stone veins have run dry, the people cannot pay their dues and are stripped of the decree granting rain. With no food left to survive on, they starve to death, and even the history of their existence is erased.
At last, the oppressed common people can take no more. They rise up in rebellion, crying out: “Why wait for an immortal's decree to bring the rain? We common folk can decide our own fate!”
