I was a freshly graduated civil engineering grunt, transmigrated into another world as a knight's apprentice.
I thought it would be swords, magic, and glory from then on.
Then came the first lesson from my mentor: “Forget all that fancy stuff. The essence of knighthood is project management.”
He handed me a steel ruler. “Now go calculate the load-bearing capacity of the castle's defenses.”
I stared at the pile of architectural blueprints on the table, lost in thought. Is something a little off about this other world?
Then a dragon attacked, and I blurted out, “It weighs about twenty tons. Its wings can't generate enough lift to support a dive like that. The structure's going to collapse!”
My mentor patted my shoulder approvingly. “Excellent. You're ready to graduate.”
