You Were Sent to Intern at a Taoist Temple, So You Summoned the Ancestor to Possess You?

Chen Fan, a laid-back graduate of a Taoist academy, is forced to bind himself to the “Three Pure Ones Intern” System just to get proof of his internship. He only wants to sweep floors, cook meals, and coast through life, but the System keeps making him fix the roof and draw talismans, turning a run-down Taoist temple into a hub of the supernatural. One Peace of Mind Talisman turns a hot-tempered boss into a living bodhisattva; one bottle of spirit spring water makes a dying orchid bloom into a priceless treasure. Just as Chen Fan thinks that's all his internship entails, tomb raiders break in and shatter the peace. At the critical moment, Chen Fan spends merit points to summon the “Patriarch's possession.” In a single minute, the winds and clouds shift, and the rabble fall to their knees! From then on, the city has a mysterious Taoist master who keeps regular nine-to-five hours: a harmless little Taoist by day, while at night (or in a crisis)... the Patriarch occasionally “works overtime.” With the Special Affairs Bureau watching him, evil cultivators coveting his secrets, and wealthy magnates clamoring for his attention, Chen Fan's laid-back life is over. A legend of restoring the Taoist tradition and uncovering the truth behind the myths has begun.
