National Fate: At the Han Pass from the Start, I Awaken the Heroic Spirits

[Urban High Martial Arts + National Destiny Awakening + Bureau 749 + Supernatural Resurgence]

Lin Yuan, a graduate student in history, can hear ancient artifacts weeping because they carry the souls of five thousand years of Chinese history.

As supernatural forces return and abyssal corruption encroaches upon reality, he awakens the [Scroll of the Nation's Soul]: the spark of civilization, and the final line of defense for the nation's destiny! By inscribing shared historical beliefs, he can manifest the power of heroic spirits. A Han sword for a blade, thunder magic for a guide, and Lord Bao's court desk to suppress evil spirits!

To uncover the truth behind the wrongful death of the “Red-Clad Senior,” he breaks into the library and burns an evil ghost with a lightning strike from his palm, only to be cornered by Qin Yuyan, the alluring captain of Bureau 749. “Join us, or have your memories erased.”

He chooses the former, unaware that his mentor, Zhou Wenbo, is an agent of the corruption, and that the wrongful conviction from ten years ago was the beginning of an invasion from a higher dimension!

[Inscribe a Han crossbow: one arrow to destroy the world!]

[Merge with the heroic spirit of a frontier defender and proclaim, “Han Dynasty Imperial Guards, here to defend the frontier!”]

Bureau 749's file assessment: Lin Yuan is no containment subject, but a sword-bearer of civilization.

Qin Yuyan sneers. “Other people use technology to fight monsters. He wakes up our ancestors to do it. Last time he nearly turned the assessment grounds into the ruins of a Han Dynasty frontier fort. They docked half a year's salary from me for repairs.”

But when he catches the scent of the ancient beast Qiongqi in a book gifted by his mentor, he realizes the real war has only just begun.

The book, A Study of Local Legends, contains not historical records, but a list of sacrificial offerings.

And his Scroll of the Nation's Soul is whispering:

“Devour the corruption to regain your strength…but every bit of power will tear at your soul.”

This time, he will wield history as his blade and cut down the abyss!
