When web novelist Ruan Xingmian, bursting with ideas but running out of inspiration, sneaks into a hospital to find a model for the “cold, aloof doctor” in her new book, she quickly finds her target: Chu Han, a cool and reserved surgeon who looks as if he has stepped right out of a novel.
Convinced he is a “method actor,” she boldly approaches him to give him some “acting advice.” “Sir, your eyes aren’t right. You need to look exhausted, with a sense of reverence for life!”
Mistaken for an actor, Chu Han is hailed as the “Hand of God” in the medical world. He has never met a girl so outrageous and entertaining. On a whim, he plays along with her “script,” even suggesting they sign a “dating contract” to fend off his family’s matchmaking pressure.
And so a romance that began as “acting” officially goes into production. She hungrily draws creative inspiration from him, while he falls deeper with every step into their carefully crafted sweet romance.
When the contract expires and the show is supposed to end, Chu Han corners her against the wall, his gaze deep and intent. “Teacher Ruan, for this story about turning a fake romance into the real thing, I’d like to apply to act in it for the rest of my life.”
