AI Mirror Walker

My name is Jiang Jianxin. I was an ordinary modern cultural scholar until I activated a mysterious program called “Mirror Walker.”

This isn’t virtual reality. It’s a doorway.

The first time, I stepped into a moonlit night in the flourishing Tang dynasty. Li Bai raised his cup to me, and as our glasses clinked, I tasted the loneliness and passion that had endured for a thousand years. The second time, I met Li Qingzhao in a rain shelter during the Northern Song. The ink on the manuscript she handed me was damp with rain, carrying the pain of a fallen nation and a broken home that words alone could not contain.

Then there was Su Dongpo’s free-spirited ease at Red Cliff, Wang Yangming’s enlightenment in Longchang, and Mozi’s defense of his doctrine of universal love amid the flames of war… What “Mirror Walker” lets me experience is not snippets of history, but real conversations with immortal souls.

They teach me poetry and philosophy, and help me see the predicament of my own age more clearly. Every spiritual encounter across time reshapes my understanding.

Now I am both Jiang Jianxin of the modern world and the “Mirror Walker” traveling through the river of civilization. I record these incredible encounters on my keyboard. Who will be waiting beyond the next doorway?

This mirror reflects not only the splendor of the ancients, but also the spiritual homeland we lost long ago.
